Ep. 80 — Doug Golden is a 20-year veteran in the energy industry having served in various executive roles with Fortune 500 companies, privately held businesses, and venture backed startups.  During this time, he has successfully launched business units within these companies and scaled those organizations to record revenue levels.  Most of Mr. Golden’s experience is in the power supply and generation spaces, particularly around helping large commercial, industrial, and governmental clients reduce their carbon footprint through the sourcing and implementation of renewable energy and energy efficiency assets. 

Mr. Golden is the Chief Operating Officer of Sparkfund, a platform services company that partners with leading utility companies and energy brands to bring decarbonization, electrification, and resiliency solutions to their end user clients throughout the United States.  

Prior to Sparkfund, Mr. Golden served as Vice President, Sustainable Energy for Eco Engineering, an EPC contractor in the energy efficiency and renewable energy space.  Mr. Golden got his start in the industry at NRG Energy and held various leadership roles there including co-founding the Integrated Solutions Team which was tasked with developing a suite of services to large business customers including EVSE, solar, back-up generation, combined heat and power, demand response, and grid connected electricity supply.

Mr. Golden holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Syracuse University where he remains involved with the Maxwell School and various alumni organizations.  He lives in Houston TX with his 11-year old greyhound mix, Jack and is involved with several charitable organizations in the greater Houston area. 

Ep. 79 — Roi is the Co-founder & CEO of Tutenlabs, where he led and crafted the plan to build a next generation workflow management SaaS, raising USD8M+ from top-tier investors.

A former Corporate & Investment Banking executive at JPMorgan, Roi started Tutenlabs while pursuing his MBA at MIT Sloan in 2016. At Tutenlabs, he built a high performing team of 200+ individuals and led the international expansion to five countries, establishing successful presence in Chile, Mexico, Colombia and the United States. In under six years, the Company reached USD10M+ in ARR through organic and inorganic growth.

Ep. 78 — Former chair of the Northeast Clean Heat and Power Initiative (NECHPI) and a three-time CEO, Herbert spent 7 years as the President/CEO of a regional energy services company and has overseen 300 energy audits and design-builds in energy efficiency and clean heating and cooling. He has founded or co-founded companies in the real estate, energy efficiency, and finance industries and led sales teams of up to 80 individuals. A Cornell MBA and US Marine / NSA-tasked cryptanalyst, Herbert also worked as the General Manager for FedEx in Central New York - the department rose to second of 1,200 regions in sales during his tenure.

Ep. 77 — Dana has dedicated her career to pursuing a cleaner energy future and a smarter, more affordable electric grid. As Chief Product Officer, she leads the development of Voltus’s technology-enabled Distributed Energy Resource (DER) platform, which connects Voltus’s customers and technology partners to the value that they can extract from their local energy markets, while contributing to a more resilient and decarbonized electric grid.

Dana is a leading expert in global energy markets and brings more than a decade of experience developing innovative, demand-side energy management products and programs that have delivered billions of dollars in proven value to customers and ratepayers. Before Voltus, Dana was Director of Product Marketing at FirstFuel, which offers cloud-based engagement software to help utilities deepen relationships with their business customers and increase energy efficiency. Prior to FirstFuel, she led corporate development and go-to-market strategies at Ambri, an MIT spinout company commercializing batteries for large-scale energy storage on the electric grid. Prior to that she was the Director of Energy Markets at EnerNOC, where she led a team responsible for the profitable management of the company’s complex portfolio of nearly 10,000 MWs of demand response assets, covering dozens of wholesale electricity markets and regulated utilities across NorthAmerica, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Dana grew up in New York City and holds an M.S. in Engineering Management, B.S. in Engineering, and B.A. from Dartmouth College. In her now home state of Massachusetts, recognized as the U.S. leader in energy efficiency by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, Dana was named a Mass High Tech “Woman to Watch” in 2014 for her groundbreaking work in the energy and technology industries. Outside of work, Dana is likely to be found on the ski slopes, biking, or hiking with her husband and two children.

Ep. 77 — Eric is a dedicated customer advocate, helping educate the industry on the use of technologies to optimize both experience and efficiency. Ep. 75 — Natasha Shah is the Vice President of Government Strategy, responsible for implementation and strategy working with the ESCO industry on advocacy, legislation, and industry-related matters at the National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO).  

Natasha has over 25 years of experience working in development and execution of energy efficiency and performance contracting, most recently serving as the Senior Vice President and General Manager at NORESCO. In addition, she served as chair of NAESCO’s board of directors from 2015-2018. Natasha holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University.

Ep. 73 — Kyle is a corporate lawyer with a passion for sustainable business practices that are economically pragmatic and environmentally productive. He’s worked on both the sell- and buy-sides of the ESPC equation: As an in-house attorney with an ESCO and as a corporate lawyer with Berry Global, a leading manufacturer of innovative packaging and engineered products. Ep. 72 — Paul Angersbach is the Vice President and General Manager of Aeroseal, LLC’s Commercial business unit. Starting his career with an electric utility, then a geothermal HVAC mfg. During his Performance Contracting career, he spent 22 years working for Johnson Controls, Inc., followed by 2 years with ABM, serving in various and progressive sales, sales leadership & general management / Vice President roles. Ep. 71 — Tom Walther leads the Wesco Energy Solutions ESCO team to deliver superior value to Energy Services Companies in the execution of Energy Saving Performance Contracting infrastructure solutions as a preferred subcontract partner.  A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Carl H. Lindner College of Business with a BBA in Marketing, Tom has 40 years of success in the commercial facility maintenance, retrofit and energy efficiency sector.  He has held leadership roles in numerous professional and industry associates including the Energy Services Coalition, National Association of State Energy Officials, National Association of Energy Services Companies and National Association of State Facility Administrators.  Tom has published several white papers and has received numerous recognitions for sales achievement and leadership throughout his career. 

Ep. 70 — Bill’s experience in the power and utilities sector spans technology, operations, strategy, and product management. He has worked with major C&I customers across the distributed energy space, delivering projects across various DER technologies and leveraging a myriad of innovative contracting structures. Bill has led several M&A transactions related to distributed energy businesses.

Ep. 68 — Bill Brunette joined Eco Engineering in 2012 and currently leads the Company’s engineering, project management, and installation functions.  Eco Engineering, based in Cincinnati, OH, is a provider of energy efficient lighting upgrade services and sustainable energy generation services.

 Before joining Eco Engineering, Bill served for 5 years as Principal and Cincinnati Office Leader for Mercer, a global HR consulting firm.  In this role, he oversaw the marketing and delivery of Mercer’s services in the Greater Cincinnati marketplace.  Bill also led the firm’s new business development efforts with large employers across the Great Lakes region.

 Prior to joining Mercer, Bill was a Senior Director of Sales at Convergys Corporation, a global customer service call center outsourcing firm subsequently acquired by Concentrix.  In the 10 years Bill worked with Convergys, his roles included sales management, direct sales, corporate alliances, and assistant to the CEO.  Bill served as a National Account Manager for 4 years at NCR Corporation in its Detroit office prior to joining Convergys.

 Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Purdue University.  He also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan Business School. 

Ep. 67 — EEEIG is an investment management and advisory firm specializing in global infrastructure investments at the intersection of sustainability and impact. EEEIG focuses on private market capital strategies supported by applied research for asset owners and institutional investors. Has led the development of firm’s low-carbon and clean energy infrastructure investment strategy. Ep. 66 — Christian Weeks is the CEO of enVerid Systems, a leader in indoor air quality and energy efficiency. Christian has over a decade of experience in energy efficiency and indoor air quality and is passionate about helping buildings achieve their energy efficiency and indoor air quality goals through smart investments in HVAC systems and proven air cleaning technologies. Prior to enVerid, Christian was an executive with EnerNOC, which was acquired by Enel X, and a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting. Ep. 65 — Paul has more than 25 years’ experience as an executive directing the growth or turnaround of engineering, technology, and infrastructure companies. He has led company and divisional operations in Canada, the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, specializing in strategy development and execution. For the past 15 years Paul has focused on the Cleantech Sector, with clients involved in the provision and control of clean energy into buildings and facilities.

Previous positions include: CEO – CleanEnergy, Canada’s first fully integrated geoexchange company; Senior Vice President – Giffels Engineering & Chairman – AGM Program Managers; President – Canac Remote Control Technologies; Vice President – Canac Inc; and, Vice President International – Cole,Sherman Associates. From 2010, Paul served as business advisor to the MaRS Cleantech Practice, while running his cleantech advisory firm, Mertes Management and Technology, Inc. He led the VXCanada 2011 Cleantech Industry Conference in Toronto and served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Geoexchange Coalition.

Paul has a B.A.Sc. (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Waterloo and an MBA (Finance) from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Ep. 64 — Mr. Mike L. Andrade is currently the CEO of Morgan Solar, a solar energy company, and has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry. Mr. Andrade previously held several high-ranking positions at Celestica Inc. (“Celestica”), most recently as President of Diversified Markets. He was part of the founding management team at Celestica, leaving IBM Canada Limited in 1994. He has extensive experience in sales, engineering, finance, operations management, mergers and acquisitions, and commodity management.  Mike believes that climate change is the defining issue of our generation, and is applying his knowledge of commercialization of technology products to the cleantech space, both in his role at Morgan Solar as well as other companies where he is an investor.  

 Mr. Andrade is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from the University of Western Ontario, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business. Mr. Andrade is also active in manufacturing and technology sector, including being on the Boards of the Next Generation Manufacturing, Building Energy Innovators Council and a founding member of the Canadian Council of Innovators.

Ep. 63 — Dr. Timothy D. Unruh is the Executive Director of the National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO).  In this role, he manages the representation of its member Energy Service Companies.  NAESCO provides advocacy for the industry at the Federal, State and Local levels, and provides for member company Accreditation.

Ep. 62 — Mr. Lynn Mueller is CEO & President of SHARC Energy Systems in Vancouver, British Columbia. SHARC Energy Systems has grown from an idea Lynn had 11 years ago to the largest and most successful wastewater energy exchange company in the world.  SHARC Energy is a global leader in carbon reduction and energy efficiency. Previously, Lynn was President of Water Furnace International, following that he was the President of Earth Source Energy Inc. Lynn is responsible for a large number of advanced sustainable energy systems using SHARC technology including the DC Water Headquarters LEED Platinum 170,000 square foot building and Wall Centre Central Park, a city block of 1000 apartments in Vancouver, and Borders College in Scotland where SHARC was able to offset 95% of the natural gas usage for building heating.

Lynn’s current passion is SHARC Energy Systems which is working to recover the 100s of billions of dollars’ worth of waste energy that goes down the drain every year in the world.  Lynn continues to press hard in his quest to make re-use of energy the norm for buildings of the future to reduce CO2 emissions and global warming. Lynn has four children and three granddaughters, so his personal mission is to do all he can to make the world more livable for them and others.
