Derek Mitchell, Sr. Vice President - Grant Capital Management

As Vice President, Derek Mitchell serves as the principal lead on a variety of company initiatives such as Tax-Exempt Municipal Lease Financing, Energy Performance Contract Management, Government Fleet Analytics and Financing, in addition to various growth and implementation strategies.

In his current role, Derek has financed over $300 million in transactions within the public sector as well as managing multiple project management engagements. He also made history when he led the financing team which funded the largest Energy Performance Contract ever implemented by a Public Housing Authority.

Derek has presented and engaged in panel discussions on the topic of tax-exempt financing at various organizations including the Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (“CLPHA”), the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (“ACEEE”), and the Birmingham Business Alliance.

Prior to his work at Grant Capital Management, Derek successfully launched products in the Antihypertensive, Psychiatry, and Urology markets within the pharmaceutical industry. He is knowledgeable in developing and executing sound business strategies that increase sales numbers.

Derek has over fourteen years of experience in building strong customer relationships, training of newly hired employees and organizational strategy within multiple business segments.

Derek holds a B.S. in Marketing from Hampton University and a MBA-finance from Loyola University.
